Gravity is a thing and yes your child will experience equine assisted gravity checks.
Embracing the Joys of Falling (and Getting Back Up!)
Falling is just part of the adventure when it comes to riding! No matter how skilled we are, those little tumbles can happen. Balancing atop a horse is like walking a tightrope – it can be wobbly at times! Horses are full of surprises; they might trip over a tiny pebble or spook at a butterfly, sending us on an unexpected journey to the ground. And let's be honest, sometimes we just lose our balance while taking a turn or soaring over a jump. But fear not! Most falls are just a little bump in the road, and with a sprinkle of luck, we’ll walk away with just a funny story to tell.
Safety Gear: Your Trusty Sidekicks
Now, while falling can be a part of the fun, there are ways to make sure we’re as safe as can be! First and foremost, rocking a helmet is a must (and most barns insist on it!). A safety vest can be your soft cushion during those unexpected landings, and if you want to take it up a notch, an air vest that puffs up like a balloon can give you an extra layer of protection. While these trusty sidekicks can’t stop you from falling, they sure can help you bounce back with a grin! And remember, keeping those heels down is a great way to help prevent those little spills in the first place!
So yes they will fall and it will be more than once. All we can do is our best to help prevent injury. and support them getting back in the saddle again. (pun intended).
