Competition....... AKA Show Day

Start your show day by gathering all essentials: a show coat, helmet, clean boots, show shirt, gloves, and a plain black crop. Don’t forget to polish your saddle and bridle!

On show day, get ready to embrace the waiting game! The event can zoom by or drag on like a snail. Your little one will usually compete in one category and pop into the ring three times, spending about 5 minutes in total. I can't help but feel a bit jittery because I want her to shine out there. After the competition, it’s nail-biting time as I wait to hear her number announced. Show day can swing from exhilarating to a bit of a letdown, depending on how competitive your rider is feeling.

Just a heads up, the first day is all about the horses—it's Hunter day! The spotlight is on the horse more than the rider. Then comes Equitation day, where the rider gets to strut their stuff and show off their skills in making the horse look fabulous. It’s a fun mix of teamwork!

All I know is that while these days can stretch on, they’re packed with fun and excitement!
